Well, it’s the big one this year!
A distant forty years since Mike Hailwood stamped his own exceptional mark on
the island circuit’s long history and a lot is being planned for this year’s
Classic TT to celebrate the occasion...

The original
Mike Hailwood race bike is being
flown in from the US for the event to join Steve Wynne, briefly plucked from
retirement in a balmy northern New Zealand. The 78 MH race bike will clearly
form the central attraction of a tented paddock display as well as being
paraded for a lap by John McGuinness. This lap in itself will constitute an
historic event as it will be the first time the bike has been ridden around the
TT course since it crossed the line in first place on that legendary summer’s
day in June 1978.

Sports
Motorcycles Racing are pleased to be able to announce we are now also involved
in all the excitement. The team are
entered on the grid of Saturday’s Lightweight race on a 750 TT1 with rider Chris Swallow once again in the saddle.
The Sports Motorcycles Race Team can be located in the main paddock sharing
tent space alongside the historic Hailwood display.

We would like to take this opportunity to
welcome a few major sponsors assisting the team at this year’s event. Namely, Spax Shock Absorbers based in the UK, Martin Brickwood Performance (MBP) in
Canada, and Eurobike in New Zealand.
Not forgetting everyone else assisting in our task.

This is
truly a global event.
